1 Overview & Commitment to Fairness

At Maine Coon Nest, we treat every adoption with utmost integrity and care. Because our kittens are live, sentient animals raised with love and substantial medical investment, our refund and return policies are structured to balance adopter protection with the lifelong health and welfare of our felines.

2 Initial 72-Hour Health Warranty & Full Refund Window

We guarantee that your kitten is free of life-threatening congenital defects and infectious diseases upon arrival. Every adopter is required to have their kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian (DVM) within seventy-two (72) hours of delivery or pickup.

3 2-Year Genetic Warranty & Replacement Policy

All kittens placed by Maine Coon Nest are protected under our comprehensive 2-Year Genetic Health Warranty covering life-threatening hereditary disorders (including HCM, SMA, PK-Def, and PKD). If a covered congenital condition is diagnosed by a licensed veterinary specialist within 24 months of birth, Maine Coon Nest will provide a replacement kitten of equal quality from our next available litter upon review of clinical diagnostics.

4 Reservation Deposit & Cancellation Terms

• Deposit Allocation: Reservation deposits secure a specific kitten and remove them from general availability. Deposits are applied directly toward the total adoption price.
• Adopter-Initiated Cancellation: Because holding a kitten prevents other qualified families from adopting and incurs ongoing medical care costs, reservation deposits are non-refundable. However, if unexpected personal circumstances arise, we offer 100% deposit transferability to any future litter within twelve (12) months.
• Breeder-Initiated Cancellation: In the rare event that a reserved kitten becomes medically unfit for placement prior to departure, the Buyer will receive a 100% immediate full refund or the option to transfer to another available kitten of their choice.

5 Post-Adoption Return & Rehoming Policy

We recognize that family situations, severe allergies, or unforeseen life changes can occur. We maintain an unconditional No-Shelter Promise:

• Within 14 Days: If you are unable to keep the kitten within the first two weeks, you may return the kitten safely to our cattery. A partial refund (less a $250 administrative and veterinary quarantine re-examination fee) will be issued once the kitten has been medically vetted.
• Lifetime Rehoming Assistance: At any time during the cat's lifetime, if you cannot provide care, Maine Coon Nest will assist you in rehoming the cat or accept them back into our care. No Maine Coon Nest kitten may ever be surrendered to an animal shelter.

6 Non-Refundable Items & Services

The following costs are non-refundable under any circumstances:

• Dispatched flight tickets, airfare, or third-party flight nanny courier fees once transit has commenced.
• Routine veterinary examination fees, elective vaccines, or elective surgeries incurred by the adopter.
• Kitten accessories, carriers, toys, and grooming products once shipped or delivered.

7 Refund Processing Timeframe

Approved refunds are processed within 5 to 7 business days back to the original method of payment (or via secure bank wire/ACH). You will receive an official transaction receipt upon processing.
